BEST WINE on Show! Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Shiraz 2015 was awarded top score at the 2018 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards, the largest competition of its kind in South Africa with 30 judges from 16 countries on the panels assessing over 2000 entries. The latest achievement of this Stellenbosch beauty, one of the Top 10 Shiraz in the SA Wine Classification, follows gold medals awarded at both the International Wine Challenge and the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

There are also other instances where the results of the competition showcase wines with established reputations, some standouts including Bon Courage Cap Classique of Robertson, Ghost Corner of Elim and The Mentors of KWV in Paarl. Among the surprises/discoveries is a white that comes with a little fizz, a perlé at under R40 a bottle from the De Wet Cellar in Worcester that won a trophy for ‘most innovative’ wine on show!
