BRING IT ON! October 2022 is brimming with top South African wine events, at least one of which is free… All you have to do to attend ‘That South Coast Show’ put on by the ‘new wave’ winemakers of The Cape South Coast on 4 October is to accept their invitation – just click on the RSVP button and they’ll tell you how to get to the venue at ‘The Secret Gin Bar’ in Cape Town. Pity it’s on the same day as the Chenin Party at the beach in the V&A Waterfront, although you could attend both if you time it right. And/but why a Tuesday? To accommodate up-country and overseas guests in the Mother City for the trade show CapeWine 2022 at the CTICC from the 5th to the 7th.

The Pinotage wine and music bash in Stellenbosch will be competing with Franschhoek Uncorked for festival-goers’ attention on Saturday the 15th, which follows Caroline’s White Wine & Cap Classique Review at The Lookout in the Waterfront on Thursday the 13th. And before that, Wine Concepts’ Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Celebration is scheduled for Sunday the 9th at The Vineyard hotel in Newlands.

It’s a month beginning with day two of the CWG Auction at the Lord Charles hotel in Somerset West and Noble Vice at Kaapzicht in Stellenbosch, culminating in Johannesburg with the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival (Wanderers Club), Veritas Tastings (Deloitte) and then WineX (Sandton Convention Centre).
