GO BELLINGHAM! After panel-tastings of over 7500 wines by 242 wine experts from 46 countries over six days in the town of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany, the 32nd edition of the Mundus Vini international wine awards culminated in the presentation of 70 grand gold medals, one of them going to a red from the Cape winelands. The 2019 Bush Vine Pinotage in The Bernard Series of DGB’s Bellingham wines was the top-rated South African entry at the show, with 55 more of the country’s beauties earning gold medals – including Distell’s 2021 Manor House Chardonnay from Nederburg of Paarl, which a week earlier was among the top gold medallists at Chardonnay du Monde in Burgundy, France. (The results of the Meininger Online company’s Mundus Vini competition were announced at ProWein, the world’s leading wine and spirits trade fair staged in the German city of Düsseldorf)
