Cape Winemakers Guild
Some of South Africa's most inspiring, talented and acclaimed winemakers are members of the Guild – the Cape Winemakers Guild founded in 1982. Admission is by invitation only, with members meeting regularly to evaluate wines from around the world, reflecting on international benchmarks while sharing their knowledge and exchanging ideas. The annual Cape Winemakers Guild Auction showcases rare and unique bottlings produced in small quantities especially for the auction – wines that have undergone rigorous screening by an independent laboratory before being selected on the basis of blind tastings by specialist panels comprising members of the guild.
