Taste the very finest at Caroline’s 2023 White Wine Review

Caroline’s annual White Wine Review, hailed as one of the most coveted tasting events on the South African wine calendar, returns to The Lookout Venue at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Wednesday 1 November.

Presented by Caroline Rillema of the legendary Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar, this world-class showcase gives wine enthusiasts the rare opportunity to discover and savour the Cape’s very best flagship white wines, as well as Cap Classique sparkling wines, all under one roof.

It’s an exclusive event like no other, involving 85 of South Africa’s top winemakers – the crème de la crème of the country’s wine producers – who have accepted Caroline’s invitation to present just one wine, their best of the best.

The Cape’s top-tier Chardonnays, Chenin Blancs, Sauvignon Blancs, Semillons, Rieslings and classic Bordeaux-style white blends are well represented, however there is also an exciting line-up of masterfully crafted wines made from lesser-known grape varieties, waiting to be discovered. Particularly sensational are the Chenin Blanc-driven blends of Mediterranean varieties such as Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette Blanche and Viognier as well as the Portuguese variety Verdelho. While not to be eclipsed, the Cap Classiques comprise a fine selection of acclaimed bubblies. All setting the tone for an exhilarating evening.

“We are delighted to bring the Cape’s finest producers of white wines and Cap Classiques together once again, giving lovers of fine wine the incredible opportunity to meet and engage with the passionate people behind these phenomenal labels,” says Caroline, whose eponymous stores in Sea Point and Tokai are known internationally as the places to go to in Cape Town for the very best in wine.

Not to be missed! An evening of walk-around wine tasting, served by the Cape’s leading winemakers, while mingling with fellow wine lovers, collectors and sommeliers.

Join Caroline and her team at The Lookout Venue on Granger Bay Boulevard in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront from 17h00 to 21h00. There is plenty of secure parking and tickets at R450 per person are available via Quicket – click here.
