JUDGED BEST overall in Winemag.co.za's 2025 SA Sauvignon Blanc Report sponsored by Prescient, the 2024 vintage of The Journal from Diemersdal is testimony to the good track record and interest value of this SB specialist in Durbanville – the 2022 vintage having excelled at the Trophy Wine Show earlier in the year. While there was only one Sauvignon Blanc judged worthy of rating 95+ in the Winemag Report, a number of current/recent South African Sauvignon releases were very highly praised by other top panels in 2025 to date – including the Seasalter 2024 from Groote Post in Darling and the Reserve 2024 (WO Elgin) from the Tokara cellar in Stellenbosch that both earned more than one glowing review earlier in the year, with the country's Sauvignon Blanc SA Top 10 competition, Veritas Awards and Platter's SA Wine Guide Honours Roll still to come at the time of writing.
