
BABYLONSTOREN and Cederberg Wines struck gold at the 2025 (19th) edition of Syrah du Monde, the international competition held in France's Rhône Valley. There were 207 wines (from 22 countries) assessed over two days by 100 judges from around the world, with the 32 gold medallists including South Africans Babylonstoren Shiraz 2022 of Simonsberg-Paarl and the 2021 Shiraz of Cederberg Wines. Moreover, the Babylonstoren ranked among the Top 10 gold medal winners along with wines representing France (3), Canada and Switzerland (2 each), Australia, Italy, Greece and Spain. The Cederberg Shiraz 2021 was also a 95-pointer at the 2024 International Wine & Spirit Competition (UK).
