FROM the 2026 vintage, the Mullineux wines made using grapes originating on the home farm on the Kasteelberg outside Riebeek Kasteel in the Swartland will be certified organic and then some… The Roundstone estate's vineyards are the first in South Africa to be certified as Regenerative Organic, a globally recognised accreditation highlighting Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines' commitment to sustainable agricultural practices, respect for the environment and “the belief that farming in harmony with nature is the best way to create exceedingly fine wine that defines a site,” says Chris and Andrea Mullineux. “It underscores our belief in the non-negotiable tenet of sustainable farming being at the core of wine excellence and the expression of a sense of place…”
Among South Africa's top wine producers and leading Swartland ‘Revolutionaries', the Mullineux couple have earned worldwide acclaim since the first vintage under their label in 2008, including being celebrated as Top Performing Winery of the Year in Platter's annual SA Wine Guide on multiple occasions. Wines made entirely from grapes grown in the Roundstone vineyards and labelled as such currently include a Shiraz-led red blend and a white blend comprising numerous varieties, however it's been decided not to include the words regenerative or organic on the labels of these or any other wines originating on the farm but to rather explain their farming methods online.
